Marco Sortino
Associate Professor at University of Udine
Marco Sortino is an associate professor of Production Technologies and Systems at University of Udine as well as professor of Mechanical Technology and Advanced Manufacturing Systems. He is Scientific Director at LAMA FVG (Laboratory of Advanced Mechatronics) and ITS (higher technical education) representative for the Dean. He is member of the steering committee of AITeM (Italian Manufacturing Technologies Association) and coordinator of the Machining Section – Cutting. He is part of the steering committee GTTS4: high-efficiency production systems of national technological cluster “Fabbrica Intelligente”. He is the author of several articles published in the most prestigious international magazines in manufacturing. His main areas of expertise are advanced automation and processing systems monitoring, with relevant scientific and industrial results both with local and international companies.

Abstract:
The lecture will introduce the main areas of application of AI technologies in manufacturing. Main issues of implementation will be discussed, as well as examples of interest of industrial applications.
